As app usage continues to increase at a rapid rate and smartphone ownership becomes more widespread, we have seen many charities utilise apps to offer accessible, engaging and educational experiences for users. However, executing an effective app marketing strategy can be greatly demanding on resources. This is why we launched our charity app marketing initiative to help a chosen charity to excel in the mobile space, for free.
The Yodel Mobile team spent several months deliberating over submissions from some incredible charities and we are excited to finally announce that we will be partnering up with Breast Cancer Care to provide our Fit to Market app programme for the charity’s BECCA app!
The BECCA app is central to the wider organisation and we are especially impressed by the team’s great ambitions, aiming to offer support for those who are adapting to life after breast cancer treatment, all around the world. The app is developed by healthcare professionals and people who have had a primary breast cancer diagnosis. It offers information, guidance and tips through bite-sized flashcards on topics like exercise, diet and managing side effects of treatment. Delivering articles on everything from well-being and mindfulness to peer-led advice, BECCA lets its users know they’re not alone.

We’re really delighted that they’re working with us here at Breast Cancer Care to make BECCA’s unique support accessible to thousands more women as they adapt to life after the disease.
“For many women the end of treatment is the hardest part of breast cancer – damaged body confidence, extreme fatigue and constant fear about the cancer returning are just some of the debilitating effects the disease leaves behind. With around 691,000 people alive in the UK after a diagnosis of breast cancer, we want women to know they’re not alone and that BECCA has information, tips and inspiration to help them move forward and live well.”
We’re excited to work with BECCA on driving users who can really benefit from the app, by implementing our tried and tested ‘Fit to Market’ programme. The programme offers a holistic approach to app marketing with the aim of acquiring, engaging and retaining high-value organic users. This includes essential strategies such as organic discoverability, App Store Optimisation, app virality, onboarding, mCRM and A/B testing, which are all key in determining the success and growth of a product.
