The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 is only a few weeks away and we can’t contain our excitement. The Mobile World Congress will be hosted in Barcelona, running from February 27th to March 2nd, and this year there are rumours of exciting releases, notable speakers and unmissable exhibitions…
Here is our list of what not to miss:
BlackBerry Mercury, Sony Xperia X2, LG G6…
These are just three of the smartphone releases we’re eagerly anticipating in 2017, and where better to witness their grand unveiling than at the Mobile World Congress. With the new year bringing an array of smartphone releases, companies like Blackberry and Sony are taking the opportunity to use the event as a platform to launch their products. Keep an eye out on other hardware launches as previous years have seen the release of smartwatches, tablets, and other connected devices.
Virtualizing the path to 5G
The MWC tours are interactive and engaging ways to gain insight from industry experts on emerging topics in the mobile ecosystem. There is a strong consideration for next generation networks, and this year we’ll see a running discussion regarding 5G. The Virtualizing the path to 5G tour takes attendees through various exhibitions whilst conversing with exhibitors.
Some other tours cover safety measures around inter-connected systems and more on adapting to the emerging advancements in AR/VR technologies. For more information about the tours, including dates and times, click here.
Playing with cool tech
What’s better than getting your hands on the latest VR/AR, Robotic and Artificial Intelligent technologies, and seeing exactly what they can do? New innovative technologies are being released at a rapid rate, (see more on VR from our 2017 predictions) and you can get a first-view directly from the forward-thinking companies that have created them at NEXTech Hall 8.0, so make sure to stop by!
There is an impressive list of speakers at the Mobile World Congress this year (see the full list here), and we are particularly eager to catch a glimpse of a few notable figures in mobile technology. This year you can expect Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, Pokémon GO creator John Hanke, Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri and AT&T CEO John Stanley.
…and possibly the most exciting of all is that the Yodel Mobile team will be there! We have been many times but this year is looking like its going to be one of the best and we can’t wait to experience all that MWC has to offer. If you want to connect over in Barcelona then don’t hesitate to send us an email or tweet us, and if you see us there, make sure to say hello.
See you there!
